Alexandra Litvinova, partner of footballer Alexis Sánchez, gained social media attention for celebrating Chilean Independence Day (Fiestas Patrias) in Canada by preparing traditional empanadas de pino.

Litvinova shared a video on Instagram documenting the process of making the dough and the filling, which included minced meat, hard-boiled eggs, and olives. The video, set to the song ‘La Consentida’, went viral, garnering tens of thousands of likes and comments from followers jokingly suggesting she be granted Chilean nationality.

The model recently arrived in Montréal to reunite with Sánchez following her travels in Europe and visa processing. The cultural connection to meat-filled pastries is noted as being somewhat similar to the Slavic pirozhkí, though the textures and preparation methods differ.
