Alexandra Magistro to direct body-horror debut “Rot”

Alexandra Magistro is set to make her feature film directing debut with the psychological body-horror thriller “Rot”. The project, based on a Black List script by Geo Bradley, is being produced by Mike Flanagan.

The story follows an antisocial man suffering from obsessive compulsions who, while working as a trauma cleaner to confront the death of his hoarder mother, finds his mental state beginning to unravel.

The film features a cast including Cooper Koch, Amber Midthunder, and Matthew Lillard. Magistro, who has served as an executive at Flanagan’s Red Room Pictures for nearly a decade, transitions to directing following her work as a writer and producer on projects such as “Carrie”.
