Alexandra Nacheva wins bronze in triple jump at European Championships

Alexandra Nacheva won the bronze medal in the women's triple jump at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. The 24-year-old Bulgarian athlete achieved a distance of 14.40 meters on her second attempt, aided by a tailwind of 3.4 m/s.

This marks Nacheva's first major medal in women's competition, following her previous successes as a youth Olympic and U20 world champion. This is Bulgaria's second medal at the Birmingham championships, following Bozhidar Saraboyukov's bronze in the men's long jump.

In the same event, Italy's Daria Derrick secured the gold medal with a personal best and season-best jump of 14.60 meters. Belgium's Salia Gies took the silver with a jump of 14.46 meters. Bulgaria's Gabriela Petrova finished in 11th place with a jump of 13.75 meters.
