Alexandra Palace launches camera obscura and summer pop‑up venues
Alexandra Palace in north London has added a new camera‑obscura installation called “Upside Down London,” which projects an inverted view of the city’s skyline onto the palace walls. The venue is also hosting a three‑day pop‑up by London‑based fashion label Heathe, showcasing Nigerian‑heritage prints and contemporary tailoring.
New dining options have opened nearby, including Kismet, a Turkish meyhane above The Globe Tavern serving traditional meze and grilled kebabs, and Soleil by Claude, a rooftop terrace at The Peninsula London offering Mediterranean‑inspired dishes with city views. The Choux Box patisserie has opened a shop in Notting Hill, providing free choux pastries to early visitors.
These additions complement Alexandra Palace’s long history of cultural events, from early BBC television broadcasts to recent concerts and sporting spectacles, and aim to attract locals and tourists throughout the summer.
