Alexandre Barro Chambrier inaugurates public borehole in Libreville

Gabon Vice-President Alexandre Barro Chambrier inaugurated a new public borehole in the Awendjé district of Libreville on Friday, August 21, 2026. The infrastructure, which reaches a depth of over 120 meters, was constructed in one week to address local difficulties regarding access to potable water and frequent network disruptions.

During the ceremony, the Vice-President stated that the initiative aligns with President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema’s vision to improve citizens' living conditions through quality equipment. He emphasized that further programs would be implemented to bring water resources closer to populations facing similar challenges.

In addition to the water project, Barro Chambrier visited a family in the Awendjé-Y-Caille sector who were victims of a devastating fire. He pledged state support and promised rapid assistance to help the victims recover from the loss.
