Alexandre Canhoni reveals exclusion from Xuxa special after religious conversion

Former Paquito Alexandre Canhoni, known as Xandy, revealed in a podcast interview that he was excluded from a 10-year anniversary special of the show ‘Xou da Xuxa’ in 1996. The exclusion occurred following his religious conversion to the Gospel in 1995.

Canhoni stated that production staff asked if he would perform songs from his time on the show, but he declined, stating he would only sing praises or original songs with positive messages. He noted, “From there, they cut me from the special.”

During the interview, Canhoni also discussed his past career, admitting to using occult practices in an attempt to achieve professional success in the arts. He has since transitioned to life as a missionary, having spent over two decades serving in Niger.
