Paraná Senate slate finalized: Alexandre Curi and Cristina Graeml confirmed

The coalition led by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) in Paraná has officially confirmed its Senate candidates for the 2026 elections. Journalist Cristina Graeml (PSD) and Assembly President Alexandre Curi (Republicanos) were announced at a press conference in Curitiba on 4 August 2026. They will run on the same ticket as Sandro Alex, the PSD candidate for governor, and former Curitiba mayor Rafael Greca (MDB) as vice‑governor.

The slate was presented with strong backing from Governor Ratinho Júnior, who highlighted Graeml as a leading female figure in the state and praised Curi’s experience representing municipal interests. The coalition also includes support from the União Progressista federation, PSDB‑Cidadania and other allied parties. Graeml, a former mayoral candidate, said she will defend her values in Brasília, while Curi pledged to strengthen Paraná’s representation in the Senate and advocate for federal resources and infrastructure projects.

The conventions marked the closing of the pre‑campaign phase, with parties required to register candidates by 15 August and campaign activities to begin on 16 August.
