Alexandre Frota returns to acting after 25 years

Actor and politician Alexandre Frota is returning to acting at Globo after a 25-year hiatus. He has been cast in the sixth season of the series ‘Arcanjo Renegado’ for Globoplay, with filming scheduled to begin this month.

Frota will portray Perseu Guedes, a vain and politically articulate Secretary of Security. He noted that he intends to draw upon his own real-world political experience to inform the character. The actor credited the invitation to José Junior, who also produced a documentary about Frota’s life.

While Frota expressed a desire to take on more special projects, he clarified that he does not intend to leave his current political role as a councilman in Cotia, São Paulo. Additionally, viewers can see him in a rerun of ‘Roque Santeiro’ on TV Globo.
