Alexandre Frota to return to Globo in new series

Alexandre Frota is returning to acting with Globo after more than a decade away from television drama. The former federal deputy will join the cast of the sixth season of ‘Arcanjo Renegado’, a Globoplay series set against the backdrop of public security conflicts in Rio de Janeiro.

In the production, Frota will portray a Secretary of Public Security for the state. Filming is scheduled to begin in October under the general direction of Isabella Gabaglia. The new season will also feature Mell Muzzillo as a police officer and will incorporate themes related to political campaigns for the Rio de Janeiro government.

Frota’s recent years have been defined by his political career, having served as a federal deputy and currently serving as a city councilor in Cotia. This move marks a professional transition back to fictional narratives following his time in legislative roles.
