Alexandre Kalil criticizes Minas Gerais debt negotiations
During a political debate in Nova Lima, former Belo Horizonte mayor and Minas Gerais gubernatorial candidate Alexandre Kalil criticized the state's debt negotiations with the federal government. Kalil targeted both current Governor Mateus Simões and former Governor Romeu Zema, describing the current administration's handling of the debt as 'pífia' (paltry).
Kalil specifically questioned the State Debt Full Payment Program (Propag), which renegotiates state debts with the Union and establishes a Federative Equalization Fund. He argued that the negotiation process lacked direct engagement with the President and expressed opposition to the redistribution of Minas Gerais' resources to other regions, such as the Northeast.
