Brazil's Federal Police deny Vorcaro testimony claims

The Brazilian Federal Police (PF) and the Prosecutor General's Office (PGR) have officially denied reports published by Veja magazine alleging that former banker Daniel Vorcaro provided testimony regarding the financing of a documentary about President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

According to the PF, Vorcaro did not provide a statement containing the reported content, nor did he submit any documents or information supporting the claim that R$ 30 million was used to fund the Oliver Stone film. Health Minister Alexandre Padilha, represented by the Attorney General's Office (AGU), has taken legal action against the magazine to demand a right of reply, labeling the report as fake news.

Legal experts and the Prerrogativas group of jurists have raised suspicions that the audio used in the report may have been manipulated using artificial intelligence. Additionally, the Workers' Party (PT) legal team is seeking to identify individuals who visited Vorcaro in prison to determine if an illegal recording was made, potentially violating functional secrecy.
