Alexandre Pato leads consortium to acquire Northampton Town
Former Brazilian footballer Alexandre Pato, through the Sports Alpha Capital consortium, has acquired a 70% stake in the English football club Northampton Town. The transaction has received approval from the Independent Football Regulator and the English Football League.
As part of the new ownership structure, Pato will join the board of directors. Former Corinthians player Edu Gaspar has been appointed as the new football manager, tasked with overseeing sporting decisions and strategic planning. Gaspar joins the project following his recent departure from Nottingham Forest.
Existing owners David Bower, Nigel Le Quesne, and Kelvin Thomas will retain a 30% stake in the club. The leadership team will also include co-chairmen Joao Xavier and Tim Chamberlain, alongside executive director James Whiting.
