Alexandria crackdown nets 96,000 EGP in fines and shop closures
Dr. Mahmoud Issa, assistant secretary‑general of the Alexandria Governorate, led intensified enforcement campaigns in the Al‑Montaz First and Second neighborhoods following directives from Governor Ayman Attia. The operations targeted streets, markets and pharmacies to enforce health, licensing and traffic regulations.
In Al‑Montaz First the campaign collected 42,000 EGP in immediate fines, issued 14 violation reports, gave 7 warnings, closed 9 illegal commercial premises and seized 12 kg of unfit food. Two pharmacies were shut for operating without a pharmacist on site. In Al‑Montaz Second the authorities secured 54,000 EGP in fines, detained 120 varied illegal occupations and 74 abandoned structures, and removed 23 illegal metal sheds. Overall, the actions aimed to restore street order, protect public health and improve traffic flow in Alexandria.
