Alexandria Enforces Beach Safety, Halts Illegal Fees at Sidi Bishr

The Central Administration of Tourism and Resorts in Alexandria, led by Brigadier Ahmed Ibrahim, acted quickly after citizens complained that a person was demanding money at the rocky area next to Sidi Bishr beach. Officials warned the individual that the shoreline is public property, coordinated with the Montazah district to remove the illegal activity and issued a clear notice that repeat offenses will face legal action.

Separately, Ahmed Basyuni, manager of Saadat Al‑Balad’s Alexandria office, confirmed that authorities are strictly enforcing the swimming ban after 8 p.m. and whenever a red‑flag warning is raised. Violations can lead to licence suspension or revocation. The measures come as the city records an unprecedented summer influx of about 2.5 million beachgoers over two days, up from two million the previous week.
