Alexandria Engineers Syndicate hosts seminar on water mist fire protection
The Alexandria Engineers Syndicate, led by President Dr. Mohamed Hesham Saudi, organized a specialized scientific seminar focused on advanced fire protection using water mist technology. The event, held at the syndicate’s conference hall, brought together engineers and specialists in fire protection, occupational health and safety, and mechanical and electrical engineering.
Keynote speaker Rüdiger Kopp, a board member and manager of fixed protection systems at Germany’s Vogtech Fire Protection and a member of the NFPA technical committee for water mist systems, presented the latest engineering solutions and technologies. The seminar covered technical topics including the definition and mechanism of water mist technology, comparisons with traditional fire suppression systems, design principles, and international standards and certifications.
The session also addressed maintenance requirements, system reliability, and practical case studies. Participants engaged in an open discussion regarding the suitability of water mist systems for various types of risks and facilities. Dr. Saudi emphasized that such seminars aim to spread engineering awareness and keep professionals updated on global technological advancements in fire safety.
