Greek Ministry of Migration Allocates €3.14 million to Lesvos Projects and €1.1 million to Alexandria Sports Facilities

The Ministry of Migration and Asylum, using the Solidarity Fund, approved a total of €3,140,358 for infrastructure projects on the island of Lesbos. €1,902,825 will improve the Petros‑Petri road and the Lepetymnos‑Agios Dimitrios rural road in the municipality of West Lesbos, €570,000 funds a final flood‑risk study for the Tsiknia stream, and €732,825 covers synthetic turf and equipment for several 5×5 football fields. An additional €1,237,534 is earmarked for a feasibility study for a new Special School in Mytilene.

A separate allocation of €1,100,000 was granted to the municipality of Alexandria for two sports‑facility upgrades: renovation of the closed gymnasium at the Municipal Athletic Center and construction of a new 5×5 football field at the same center. Mayor Panagiotis Gkyri­nīs said the financing “is a significant achievement for our municipality,” thanking Minister Thanos Plevris and MP Tasos Barjokas for their support.
