Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rejoins Democratic Socialists of America

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has officially rejoined the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA). The organization confirmed in a press release that she is a member in good standing, having renewed her membership in August 2026.

The DSA noted that while Ocasio-Cortez originally joined in 2018, her dues-based membership had lapsed in 2019. The organization stated that the decision to clarify her membership status was prompted by ongoing discussions regarding her potential involvement in the 2028 presidential campaign.
