Alexandrina Cruz seeks re-election as Rio Ave president

Alexandrina Cruz has confirmed her candidacy for a second term as president of Rio Ave in the upcoming elections scheduled for November. Cruz, 49, currently serves as a director of the club's SAD.

In a statement shared via digital platforms, Cruz reflected on her tenure since succeeding António Silva Campos in 2023, noting the challenges faced in restoring stability and ambition to the club. She expressed a desire to continue building a club defined by values, sporting ambition, and improved facilities through stable management.

The election will feature at least one other challenger, Avelino Fernandes, who has announced his candidacy under the slogan ‘Hora de Mudança’ (Time for Change).
