Alexandros Avlonitis clarifies PASOK's stance on political coalitions

PASOK lawmaker Alexandros Avlonitis has addressed recent controversies regarding potential political coalitions in Greece. Avlonitis clarified his stance on post-election cooperation, emphasizing that while PASOK should aim for first place, it should be open to dialogue with other center-left parties in the event of a second round of elections.

He identified several parties for potential discussion, including SYRIZA, MeRA25 (if it enters Parliament), and New Left. Avlonitis stressed that any political direction must be based on the will of the Greek people as expressed through election results.

However, he drew a firm line regarding the current governing party, stating, “If PASOK cooperates with New Democracy, I am going home,” arguing that it would be ideologically inconsistent to partner with a government the party has been opposing.
