Alexandros Kapetanou presents ‘Dark Glass’ exhibition in Tinos

The Tinian Cultural Foundation is presenting a solo exhibition by Alexandros Kapetanou titled ‘Dark Glass’ at the Nikolaos Gyzis Hall. Curated by Christoforos Marinos, the exhibition is scheduled to run from August 26 to October 12, 2026.

The collection features oil paintings developed between 2022 and 2025, drawing inspiration from the ‘Glass Menagerie’ by Tennessee Williams. Kapetanou utilizes a visual and emotional vocabulary centered on light, memory, and the fragility of characters, specifically Laura Wingfield.

In these works, objects such as chandeliers are transformed into ethereal bodies of light floating within deep, layered black spaces. The artist focuses on the moment light emerges from or returns to darkness, shifting the emphasis from the description of objects to the experience of their appearance.
