Alexandros Papadiamantis' 'The Apothecary' performed in Lefkada

A dramatized version of Alexandros Papadiamantis' classic short story “The Apothecary” will be staged on Tuesday, 11 August 2026 at 21:00 in the ruined Saint George chapel at Perama Kalligoniou, Lefkada. The production, directed and narrated by Dimitris Verikios, blends the original narrative with original music and songs composed by guitarist Aretē Kokkínou, featuring vocals by Thelma Karagianni and percussion by Sotiris Ganiaris. The performance, organized by the Enoria Spiritual Center of the Evangelical Church of Lefkada and the Kalligoni Cultural Association, runs for about one hour and ten minutes and highlights folk superstitions, love, and mysticism from the 1900 text.
