Alexandros Skliros joins Portland State for NCAA basketball

Greek basketball player Alexandros Skliros has announced his move to the United States to play for Portland State in the NCAA for the 2026-27 season. The 18-year-old, 2.05m tall center, previously played for Promitheas Patras and has represented Greece across various youth national teams.

Skliros recently competed in the FIBA U18 EuroBasket, where Greece finished in sixth place. During that tournament, he averaged 5.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1.7 blocks per game in approximately 22.4 minutes of play. His standout performance occurred during the quarterfinal match against Spain, where he recorded 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks.

Portland State officials expressed enthusiasm for his addition to the roster, noting his defensive capabilities, rebounding, and physical style of play.
