Alexandru Tănase warns against political use of unification ideals

Former Constitutional Court President Alexandru Tănase has expressed concern regarding the political instrumentalization of the idea of unifying Bessarabia with Romania. In an editorial, Tănase argues that while opponents may combat such ideas seriously, the greater danger lies in politicians who adopt these ideals loudly only to transform them into empty electoral slogans.

Tănase specifically noted a change in the rhetoric of academic Dan Dungaciu following his perceived alignment with the AUR party. The former judge emphasized that a project of such magnitude requires responsibility and seriousness rather than being treated as a mere political tool or spectacle.
