PAS candidate Alexandru Vornicu withdraws from Chișinău mayoral race

Alexandru Vornicu, the candidate proposed by the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) for the Chișinău mayoral race, has withdrawn his candidacy. Vornicu cited personal and family reasons for his decision, stating he could not provide the full commitment required for the role. He denied rumors of internal party tensions and affirmed his continued support for the party's eventual candidate.

Following the withdrawal, PAS leader Igor Grosu announced that the party will soon name a new candidate. Grosu indicated that the party has several qualified options to choose from, mentioning that ministers such as Gheorghe Hajder (Environment), Vladimir Bolea (Infrastructure and Regional Development), or Victoria Belous (Finance) could potentially be considered for the position.
