Journalist Alexia Rivas has reported suffering from a severe bacterial infection following a vacation in the Dominican Republic. The illness, which caused significant gastrointestinal distress, began during her flight back to Spain.

Rivas noted that despite being careful to avoid drinking tap water, she believes the bacteria may have been contracted through other means, such as brushing teeth or consuming food prepared with local water. Her symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and significant weight loss, leading her to seek further medical attention.
