Alexis Dedis leaves AEK FC to join Tsipras's ELAS party

Alexis Dedis, the current third vice president of AEK FC, has decided to leave his position in football administration to run as a candidate in the upcoming national elections. He will join the Greek Left Coalition (ELAS), a new political entity led by Alexis Tsipras.

Dedis has informed the management of AEK FC of his decision. His departure marks a transition from sports governance to the central political arena. He serves as one of the first specific names identified for the candidate lists of Tsipras's new political movement.

Dedis has an extensive background in sports administration and communication, having worked with the Hellenic Football Federation (EPO), the Super League, and UEFA. He also previously served as the CEO of AEK FC and worked with the Supreme Committee for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
