Alexis Maxine Fuetsch represents Texas at Miss USA

Alexis Maxine Fuetsch, a 20-year-old student of Romanian descent, represented Texas at the Miss USA competition held in Miami, Florida. Fuetsch made history as the first student from the University of Texas to win the title of Miss Texas USA.

A public relations student with a 4.0 GPA, Fuetsch entered the beauty pageant circuit at age 18 to advocate for the Children’s Rehabilitation Institute TeletonUSA (CRIT), a nonprofit center for children with disabilities. Although she did not place in the top 20 semifinalists at Miss USA, she has used her platform to challenge stereotypes regarding the focus of beauty pageants.

Fuetsch holds dual Romanian and American citizenship. Her family history includes her grandmother, a radiologist from Bucharest who emigrated from Romania in 1982.
