Nashville SC wins Supporters' Shield, eliminates CF Montréal
Nashville SC secured the 2026 MLS Supporters' Shield for the first time in club history following a 2-0 victory over CF Montréal at Stade Saputo. The win brings Nashville to 70 points with three matches remaining, mathematically clinching the top spot in the league and guaranteeing home-field advantage for the upcoming playoffs.
Goals from Sam Surridge in the 51st minute and Hany Mukhtar in the 76th minute sealed the win for the Tennessee-based side. The victory also secures Nashville a spot in the 2027 CONCACAF Champions Cup.
For CF Montréal, the defeat officially eliminates them from playoff contention. The club, currently at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, has faced a difficult period following a recent loss in the Canadian Championship final. Chilean forward Alexis Sánchez started the match but was substituted in the 79th minute as Montréal failed to find the back of the net.
