Alexis Sánchez delivers motivational speech to CF Montréal teammates

Alexis Sánchez has taken on a prominent leadership role at CF Montréal, delivering a motivational locker room speech to his teammates in a mix of English and Spanish. The veteran Chilean forward used the address to urge his squad to maintain composure while remaining competitive, stating, “Boys, it’s 90 minutes, no 45, 90 minutes, okay? Calma, calma… win today, pero calma. Everything calm.”

Sánchez, a former player for clubs including Barcelona, Arsenal, and Manchester United, joined the Canadian side to provide experience during a difficult 2026 campaign. CF Montréal currently sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Despite the team's struggles, they recently secured a 3-1 victory over FC Cincinnati, a match in which Sánchez started. While he has yet to record a goal or assist in his first ten appearances for the club, his influence is being felt in the dressing room.
