Alexis Tsipras and PASOK officials clash over political tactics

Political tensions are rising within the Greek progressive camp as former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and PASOK official Vasia Anastasiou engage in a sharp exchange of criticisms.

Anastasiou has launched a fierce attack against Tsipras, describing certain tactics used against her as “fascist.” She accused his camp of manipulating public opinion by using edited, out-of-context clips of her statements regarding the relationship between PASOK and the Hellenic Socialist Organization (ELAS) to distort her meaning.

Meanwhile, Alexis Tsipras addressed the Political Committee, criticizing the current government led by Kyriakos Mitsotakis for its inability to combat inflation, which he termed an “invisible memorandum.” Tsipras also defended his political record, asserting that his administration from 2015–2019 remained a clear alternative to the Right and emphasizing that his party has never entered a governing coalition with New Democracy.
