Alexis Tsipras discusses coalition options for EL AS

During a press conference at the Thessaloniki International Fair, Alexis Tsipras stated that if his party, EL AS, emerges as the largest party in upcoming elections, he will exhaust every possibility to form a government. He expressed openness to cooperation with PASOK and other opposition parties to achieve a change in policy.

Tsipras also addressed recent speculation regarding potential cooperation with the center-right. Following a post by Giorgos Siakantaris, a contributor to the party's founding manifesto, which discussed hypothetical cooperation with the right to counter far-right rises, Tsipras distanced himself from the comments. He clarified that Siakantaris is not an official EL AS executive and that his remarks represent personal views rather than the party's official stance.

In response, New Democracy spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis dismissed the idea of cooperation between the two parties, stating that an abyss separates them and characterizing the notion as an improbable joke.
