Alexis Tsipras names 50 sector heads for ELAS and gives first TV interview

Greek left-wing alliance ELAS announced a slate of 50 sector leaders appointed by its president, Alexis Tsipras. Among the appointments are Francesco Koutentakis as head of the Economics sector, Maria Lepenioti overseeing Justice, Institutions and Rights, Spyros Dritsas for Health, Ioanna Laliotou for Education, Kostas Lagouvardos for Energy and Environment, and Haris Tzimetras for Foreign Policy. The coordination of the sector heads will be managed by Kostas Gavroglo, while political planning is assigned to Eugenia Fotoniata. Additional roles cover areas such as Labour, Agriculture, Digital Policy, Defence, and Migration.

On the same day, Tsipras is scheduled to appear in his first televised interview as ELAS president on Alpha TV at 19:00 (Thursday, 25 June). The interview is expected to address recent criticism from PASOK leader Nikos Androulakas, who accused Tsipras of opening the door to foreign funds and questioned his tax policy and political credibility. The broadcast is seen as an opportunity for Tsipras to respond to these challenges and outline ELAS's agenda.
