Alexis Tsipras pledges judicial independence and transparency for ELAS

Alexis Tsipras, president of ELAS, has emphasized the importance of judicial independence and political accountability in a democratic state. During an interview, he stated that ensuring no individual is granted immunity and that all citizens remain equal before the law is a matter for the justice system rather than any specific government.

Tsipras committed to transparency, noting that he and his future government members would be subject to scrutiny. Regarding the financial structure of ELAS, he described it as a hybrid party supported by members, friends, and volunteers, promising that financial details would soon be made public.

Addressing party formation, Tsipras clarified that ELAS aims to emerge from society rather than from within the existing Parliament. He stated the party will not recruit MPs elected through other parties and will avoid pre-reserved positions, opting instead for collective decision-making processes to build a new political framework based on credibility.
