Alexis Tsipras presents EL.A.S election program for upcoming Greek DETh

Alexis Tsipras and the EL.A.S leadership are finalising a detailed, cost‑estimated programme to be unveiled at the September DETh, Greece’s upcoming parliamentary election. The plan centres on three pillars: strengthening the social state, ensuring tax justice and maintaining fiscal stability. It includes a public agency to manage risky housing loans, measures to lower housing costs, a suite of education reforms such as abolishing nationwide exams and restructuring non‑state universities, and proposals to reduce energy expenses for households and businesses.

The party’s work teams are preparing the programme with an emphasis on realistic budgeting and rapid implementation, aiming to differentiate EL.A.S from the ruling New Democracy and to appeal to vulnerable social groups ahead of the election.
