Alexis Tsipras schedules dual Thessaloniki Fair appearances to precede and follow PM Mitsotakis

Greek Left Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras will present the party’s economic programme at a special event in the Porto Palace hotel on 2 September, three days before Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s visit to the Thessaloniki International Fair (DETH). Tsipras will then return to the fair on 9 September for a press conference at the I. Vellidis venue, timing the interview to occur after Mitsotakis’s speech.

ELAS describes the two‑stage schedule as a “political encirclement” of the prime minister, aiming to set the policy agenda ahead of his appearance and to respond to it afterward, thereby positioning Tsipras as a principal opposition figure at the fair.
