Alexsander suspended for two games following insults to Kaio Jorge

The Superior Tribunal de Justiça Desportiva (STJD) has suspended Atlético midfielder Alexsander for two matches following insults directed at Kaio Jorge. The incident occurred in the anti-doping room at Arena MRV following Atlético's 2-1 victory over Cruzeiro.

STJD prosecutor Caio Barros reported that the suspension was due to “grave conduct” and “grave words” after the player recorded a video containing direct insults toward the rival player. Atlético has announced its intention to appeal the decision, arguing that the midfielder was responding to provocations made by Kaio Jorge during the match.

In related rulings, Cruzeiro was fined R$ 10,000 for stadium vandalism by its fans, with an additional R$ 31,000 required to cover damages reported by Atlético. Atlético was acquitted of charges regarding objects thrown onto the pitch but was fined R$ 10,000 for missing balls at the end of the match.
