Alexsandro moved to tears after Lille victory over Toulouse

Lille OSC defender Alexsandro was visibly emotional following his team's 1-0 victory over Toulouse, a result that moved the club into the provisional lead of Ligue 1. The Brazilian defender broke into tears at the final whistle, citing the emotional weight of playing against the same opponent where he suffered a severe quadriceps injury one year prior.

The injury, which occurred in September 2025, significantly impacted his career, including his recent exclusion from the 2026 World Cup squad. After undergoing treatment at the Aspetar clinic in Qatar, Alexsandro has worked to regain his starting position under manager Bruno Genesio.

Lille secured the win thanks to a goal from Ayase Ueda and a strong performance by goalkeeper Berke Özer. Alexsandro credited his recovery and return to form to the support of his teammates and the club staff.
