Alfa Romeo celebrates automotive heritage in San Francisco and Arese
Alfa Romeo's historical legacy and design identity were recently celebrated through two distinct initiatives. In San Francisco, the Consulate General of Italy hosted an event for enthusiasts to honor the brand's century-long history. The gathering traced the company's origins from its 1910 founding in Milan as A.L.F.A. to its evolution into a global symbol of Italian automotive performance and style.
The brand's history includes significant racing milestones, such as winning the first World Constructors' Championship in 1925 and Formula 1 driver titles in 1950 and 1951. The brand also played a foundational role in the history of Ferrari, as Enzo Ferrari founded Scuderia Ferrari in 1929 to compete using Alfa Romeo vehicles.
In Arese, Italy, the Alfa Romeo Museum has undergone a significant transformation. Originally established in 1976 within the production plant, the museum closed in 2011. Following a 2015 redevelopment project by Camerana & Partners, the site has been revitalized into a modern brand center. The facility now serves as a cultural and experiential hub, featuring a showroom, documentation center, event areas, and a dedicated test track for historic vehicles.
