Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior celebrates anniversary with modern AI concept
The Alfa Romeo GT 1300 Junior, an iconic coupé designed by Bertone, marks its anniversary following its original launch on September 26, 1966. Originally released as a more accessible version of the Giulia Sprint GT, the Junior was designed to attract younger drivers through its sporty proportions and refined style.
Technical specifications of the classic model included a 1,290 cc twin-cam four-cylinder engine producing 88 CV, a top speed of approximately 170 km/h, and a five-speed manual transmission. Over its decade-long production run, which lasted until 1976, more than 92,000 units were manufactured.
In tribute to this milestone, digital creator and architect Virgilio Vaccari used artificial intelligence to produce a modern conceptual render of a new Alfa Romeo GT Junior. While not an official Alfa Romeo announcement, the creative project reimagines the classic coupé's proportions—such as the long hood and recessed cabin—for a contemporary era.
