Alfa Romeo to develop new C-segment hatchback successor to Giulietta

Alfa Romeo is planning to expand its lineup with a new C-segment hatchback designed to succeed the Giulietta and 147 models. The move aims to satisfy enthusiasts who prefer traditional hatchbacks over the brand's current SUV-heavy focus.

CEO Santo Ficili has confirmed the development of a new compact vehicle, promising it will be “beautiful, innovative, exciting to drive and faithful to the values that made our brand unique in the world.” While a specific name has not been officialized, speculation includes the potential revival of the Milano name.

Technical details remain unconfirmed, but reports suggest a high-performance Quadrifoglio version could feature approximately 400 horsepower. The new model is expected to offer various powertrain options, including mild-hybrid (MHEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technologies. This strategic expansion follows a strong performance for the brand in Italy, which saw a 22.9% increase in registrations in 2025.
