Alfaparf Milano acquires Brazilian cosmetics firm Cosmo
The Italian professional cosmetics multinational Alfaparf Milano has announced the acquisition of Cosmo, a prominent Brazilian company specializing in the development and contract manufacturing of personal care and hygiene products. This strategic move strengthens Alfaparf Milano’s private label business and expands its industrial footprint in South America, bringing its total production units in the region to four across the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Cosmo reported a 2025 turnover of 679.6 million reais, approximately 113 million euros. The integration aims to combine Cosmo’s manufacturing experience with Alfaparf Milano’s research, formulation, and international innovation capabilities to better serve both the Brazilian and global markets.
Separately, during Milano Beauty Week, the multidisciplinary artist SANGY debuted the photographic exhibition ‘Proud to be Hairdressers’. The non-profit project highlights the professional dignity and skill of hairdressers worldwide, showcasing their work in diverse environments ranging from high-end salons to modest settings. The exhibition is inspired by the principles of ‘Humanistic Cosmetics’, focusing on the personal and relational well-being provided by the profession beyond mere aesthetics.
