Alfie Goddard died accidentally from caffeine overdose
An inquest by the Essex Forensic Court has determined that 25-year-old Alfie Goddard died accidentally on October 28, 2025, following the massive ingestion of caffeine capsules purchased online.
On the day of his death, Goddard was found in Colchester in a state of neurological distress, walking barefoot and disoriented near traffic. Witnesses reported he was vomiting blood and was unable to communicate clearly with emergency services due to his altered state. After receiving medical attention, he suffered an irreversible cardiac arrest.
Essex Police Inspector Tom Bastendorff stated that multiple containers of caffeine capsules were discovered in Goddard’s apartment. The investigation concluded that the excessive consumption of these supplements led to his erratic behavior and subsequent collapse. The court found no evidence of intentionality, noting that Goddard’s existing diagnoses of paranoid schizophrenia, autism, and ADHD may have contributed to a vulnerability toward compulsive substance consumption.
