Alfio Caccamo acquires abandoned commercial building in Macerata

Entrepreneur Alfio Caccamo, CEO of Brand srl, has acquired a large abandoned commercial building located between Corridonia and Piediripa in the Macerata province. The structure, often referred to as an ‘ecomostro’ (environmental monster), was originally intended to serve as a major business center for Lube in the 1990s but has remained unfinished and abandoned for nearly thirty years.

Caccamo secured the property through a court auction in Macerata for 306,000 euros. This price represents a significant decrease from the initial 2015 auction attempt, which started at approximately 4.79 million euros. Following several years of failed auctions and declining price offers, Caccamo provided the only bid for the 16,000-square-meter facility.

This acquisition follows Caccamo’s previous investment in the former Babaloo nightclub in Porto Potenza Picena. He intends to use the new acquisition to initiate redevelopment projects for the site, which is situated near the SS77 highway interchange.
