Alfonso Herrera to voice The Cat in the Hat

Actor Alfonso Herrera is set to provide the main voice dubbing for the upcoming film, The Cat in the Hat. This project marks a return to the Dr. Seuss universe for Herrera, who previously voiced Ted Wiggins in the 2012 film The Lorax: Searching for the Truffula Tree.

In an interview with Excélsior, Herrera described the character as a challenge that pushed him out of his comfort zone due to the cat's high energy and rapid verbal abilities. He noted that the character embodies spontaneity and instinct. The film is a Warner Animation Studios production and utilizes 2D animation, which Herrera noted relies on artisanal intelligence rather than artificial intelligence to encourage imagination in children.
