Alfonso Nasarre, director of Onda Madrid, has died
Alfonso Nasarre, a prominent Spanish journalist and the current director of Onda Madrid, has passed away at the age of 67.
Nasarre had a career spanning nearly four decades across public and private media, as well as government administration. He began his career in 1985 at COPE, serving as a reporter, parliamentary chronicler, and head of the politics section. Between 1997 and 2004, he worked within the Spanish government's communication department during the administration of José María Aznar, holding roles such as advisor to the Secretary of State for Communication and Director General of the Government Spokesperson.
He later returned to COPE as Director of Antenna and Communication for eight years. His career also included significant leadership roles at Radio Televisión Española (RTVE), where he served as Director of Communication and Institutional Relations, and as Director General of Radio Nacional de España (RNE) from 2013 to 2018. Since 2021, he had been leading the regional public radio station Onda Madrid.
