Alfonso Rosado Sánchez awarded Mexican Physics Society medal

Dr. Alfonso Rosado Sánchez, a researcher at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) Institute of Physics, has been awarded the 2025 Medal of the Particles and Fields Division of the Mexican Physics Society (SMF).

The award recognizes his fundamental contributions to the phenomenology of electroweak interactions and his role in establishing a competitive particle physics research group at BUAP. His theoretical work is noted as being among the antecedents that contributed to the discovery of the Higgs boson at CERN in 2012.

Dr. Rosado Sánchez, a Level III researcher in the National System of Researchers (SNII), has authored over 60 scientific publications, with approximately 75 percent of his work related to Higgs boson physics. He has also been recognized for his dedication to training high-level scientific human resources in Mexico.
