Alfor Aviation to build £50m aircraft conversion campus at Teesside

Alfor Aviation is progressing with plans to develop a £50 million aircraft conversion campus at Teesside International Airport. The project follows a 50-year agreement secured during the Farnborough International Airshow.

The new facility will feature purpose-built hangars, engineering workshops, and warehousing designed to convert up to 24 passenger aircraft into freighters annually. The development is expected to create 250 permanent high-skilled jobs and is forecast to begin operations by the end of 2027.

As part of the investment, Alfor Aviation intends to relocate its global headquarters to Teesside. Teesside International Airport management noted that the project supports the airport's growth as an aviation cluster, leveraging its Freeport status and existing connections to road, rail, and sea.
