Alfor Aviation to Launch £50 Million Aircraft‑to‑Cargo Conversion Center at Teesside, UK

Alfor Aviation, a subsidiary of Turkey’s Alarko Holding, signed a 50‑year agreement with Teesside Airport in the United Kingdom to relocate its global headquarters and build a new aircraft conversion campus.

The £50 million (≈ $67 million) investment will create large hangars, advanced engineering workshops and a modern conversion line that, at full capacity by the end of 2027, will be able to turn up to 24 passenger planes per year into freighters. The facility will use Alfor’s internally developed Internal Loading System, which eliminates the need for a big cargo door and is expected to cut conversion costs by roughly 40 % and shorten turnaround times.

The project plans to generate about 250 skilled permanent jobs in engineering, maintenance, logistics and operations, strengthening the UK’s aeronautical industry and supporting the growing e‑commerce and express‑delivery cargo market.
