Alfred Athill Represents Antigua at Global Drug Regulatory Conclave in New Delhi

Alfred Athill, Director of Pharmaceutical Services and Chief Drug Inspector for Antigua’s Ministry of Health, Wellness, the Environment & Civil Service Affairs, attended the inaugural Global Drug Regulatory Conclave held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, India, on July 30‑31 2026.

The two‑day summit was jointly organized by India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), the Ministry of Health & Family Affairs, the National Regulatory Authority for India and the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council for India (PHARMEXCIL), with support from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Approximately 60 delegates from 40 countries gathered, including heads of national pharmaceutical regulatory authorities, senior officials, policymakers, and representatives from the US Food and Drug Administration and the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, alongside industry leaders.

Participants deliberated on strategic issues such as regulatory convergence, market‑authorization pathways, drug safety and pharmacovigilance, quality assurance, regulatory reliance, emerging technologies and strengthening resilience in pharmaceutical supply chains. Athill aimed to explore how Antigua could benefit from the insights and collaborations emerging from the conclave.
