Alfred Dunhill Links Championship returns to Scotland with star field

The 25th Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is taking place in Scotland, featuring a field of 168 professionals and amateurs competing across St Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns for a $5 million prize pool.

A major highlight of the tournament is the return of Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter to the DP World Tour. After more than three years away following their move to LIV Golf, both players have reportedly paid over $1 million in fines to settle outstanding penalties with the tour. While they are competing via invitation this week, the settlement allows them to apply for full membership for the 2027 season.

The tournament field includes several major champions and notable players such as Brooks Koepka, Justin Rose, Tyrrell Hatton, and defending champion Robert MacIntyre. The event also features a mix of international players and celebrities. As the season enters a critical phase, the tournament serves as a key opportunity for players to secure their standing in the Race to Dubai and maintain playing rights for the upcoming season.
